Music matters to me; it is a refuge. Albums like ‘Seventeen Seconds’ (The Cure), ‘Curse Your Branches’ (David Bazan), ‘Kollaps Tradixionales’ (Thee Zilver Mt. Zion), No More Shall We Part (Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds) or ‘Fevers and Mirrors’ (Bright Eyes); they envelop me; they delight me. I like music when it is melancholic, discordant, dissonant, harmonious, soothing, aggressive, numbing, sad (very sad), inviting, exquisite. This is escapism at its finest on a good day and self-interrogation on not-such-a-good day.

This is where I, and sometimes my friends, write about our favourite bands, albums and concerts: Uzinemusic
